To make your Christmas experience even more unforgettable, treat yourself to a stay at Hotel Astoria, located just a stone's throw from Brignole station and excellently connected to the entire city center.
Living Carillon: musical poetry
The first unmissable event is the Living Carillon, a traveling work of art that enchants the streets of Genoa. A musician in 18th-century dress plays a self-propelled piano while a dancer in a tutu dances to the rhythm of the sweet notes of the carillon. This unique artistic offering will move to different parts of the city each day at 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., bringing its magic on Dec. 1 to Via Sestri, on Dec. 2 to Piazza Paolo da Novi and the Foce area, and on Dec. 3 to the historic center of Voltri. It is a not-to-be-missed event that winds through different locations until Christmas Eve.
Sleds of the 1700s and 1800s: a journey through time
From the snowy moors of Norway, the peaks of the Austrian Tyrol and the German Black Forest, come four authentic examples of sleighs from the 1700s and 1800s. Restored to perfection, these historic works of art will take center stage in an interactive exhibition that will enchant Genoese viewers. An eccentric coachman in Victorian attire will transport a friendly Santa Claus through the streets, honoring everyone with greeting cards. The traveling sleigh tour will touch different areas of the city, including Boccadasse, Corso Italia, Via XX Settembre, Prà , and many others, providing a unique and evocative experience.
The Mabò Band: music and comedy for everyone
For 25 years on the stage, the Italian Brass Band, known as the Mabò Band, continues to surprise audiences with its extraordinary comedic/musical improvisational act. Called a "delightful and original icing on the cake," the Mabò Band delivers elegant and high-quality performances. Alongside them, Parola Bianca, the curious Christmas character who hands out greeting cards, adds a touch of magic and cheer to the festivities. The Mabò Band's dates include Romagnosi Square, Canevari Street, Victory Square Fair, Cesarea Street, Fiasella Street, Molassana and San Gottardo Fairs, Pestarino Square, Palermo Square, Market Area and many others.
