Genoa and music has always been a winning combination. The busy schedule of concerts continues throughout the winter period, with a special focus on the Christmas holidays, with shows that can please lovers of all genres of music: pop music and the great Italian singer-songwriters, great jazz performances and evocative classical compositions.

Candlelight Christmas concerts


New dates for the Christmas season for candlelight concerts in the beautiful Sala del Minor Consiglio at Palazzo Ducale and other charming city locations.

On December 11, Vivaldi's Four Seasons will be played at the Palazzo della Meridiana.

Starting Dec. 18 it will be possible to attend concerts dedicated to Einaudi , Morricone, Mozart and Vivaldi.

Then on Dec. 20 the Christmas concert with solo piano will be held.

For those who want to have fun, there is certainly no shortage of concerts by great artists of the Italian music scene.

Gianna Nannini opened the dances, on November 28, performing at the beautiful Carlo Felice Theater, and, on the same date, Marco Masini at the Politeama Genovese Theater.

On Dec. 2 Alex Britti kicked off his new "Couch Tour" at the Govi Theater.

This is followed on Dec. 6 by Jack Savoretti at Teatro Carlo Felice with his "Europiana" tour.

The final schedule is awaited for the big New Year's Eve concert in the square organized by Mediaset, presented by Federica Panicucci. Among the guests leaked are the names of Patty Pravo, Gemelli Diversi and Anna Tatangelo.

Jazz concerts in Genoa


There is no shortage of jazz concerts in Genoa. With the summer season over in the squares and towns of the province, shows continue in theaters and music schools in the capital.

Events at the Count Basie Jazz Club should be monitored.

Until March 26, 2023, you can enjoy great jazz at breakfast with "Jazz'n'breakfast" with important guests performing at the Modena Theater and Market Hall. Breakfast is served from 9:30 a.m., and live music then begins from 10:30 a.m.

Names include Blues Legacy, Dec. 18, Motus Laevus Project, Jan. 15. Then Ligurian double bassist and composer Giovanni Sanguineti, accompanied by Mario Zara (piano) and Nicola Stranieri (drums), presents his new album, "Remember the future," on Feb. 26. The review ends on March 26 with Voices, in which the Esperanto Trio formed by Luca Falomi, Riccardo Barbera and Rodolfo Cervetto accompanies jazz performers of the caliber of Emeralda Sciascia and Alessia Martegiani.
